Announcements …
Category : Uncategorized
Well as I said in the previous post, Lorraine and I have two big announcements to make. Some of you may already know these, and so they will not be big announcements to you, but for those of you who do not know they will be big announcements.
Right before we left Arizona for North Carolina, back in January, Lorraine and I came across a startling realization. This realization was that Lorraine was pregnant. The pregnancy was definitely a surprise, but a great surprise. However, the two of us needed time to process this big news, especially in light of the fact that we were about to move to a third-world country. We certainly did not know how things would work out with Lorraine being pregnant and being in Haiti, but we trusted that the decision was the right decision. We both became overwhelmed with a sense of peace that let us know that God would care for us and keep us healthy and safe, because it was HE who called us to it. Sure enough, as I reflect back, the Lord did take care of Lorraine and I, especially Lorraine, because she had absolutely no health problems in Haiti.
We are pregnant!!! The baby is due September 12, and that date is rapidly approaching, which is very exciting and a little scary. We are not going to find out whether it is a boy or girl until the baby is born, and so if you ask we are not keeping anything hidden from you when we say we don’t know, we are simply telling the truth. I can only ask that you join us in praying for the little Jonesy to come, and for no complications.
Alright now for the second announcement: We are going back to Haiti. This announcement is probably no shock to many, but is probably a shock to some, especially in light of the previous announcement. Taking a newborn to Haiti is a risky and crazy thing – we know, but we feel this is where God wants us to be, and we really believe in the ministry that we were working with. The impact that we had on the mission was definitely minimal compared to the impact that it had on Lorraine and I, and so we are both overjoyed to be going back and doing God’s work in Port-de-Paix, Haiti. Our date of return is in November, it would be August, but because of the baby, we will not be able to go until then.
Going back to Haiti is awesome in many ways, but it does present some new challenges. Not challenges, though, that we cannot overcome, but certainly areas where Lorraine and I need help. We certainly need help from the Lord to provide, guide, protect, and keep us and the baby healthy, but we also could use all of your help. We need lots of prayer. If we are going to raise the support we need and make it in the third-world with a baby we will need lots of prayer. So please keep us in your prayers, as we remember to keep all of you in our daily prayers.
Alright, well this is enough news for now. I look forward to hearing from you all, and seeing some of you very soon as we make our way around to raise support in the next couple of months. Oh … if any of you have any ideas for financial support or support raising please do not hesitate to share it with us. Blessings to you all.
