Support raising & Exhaustion

Category : Uncategorized

Hey Everyone,

Well so far this summer has flown by!  We have been bouncing around from place to place, and we are becoming weary.  We, more or less, have been on one long and extended road trip since we got back from Haiti about a month and a half ago.  It has certainly been nice visiting everyone and talking to churches, but it is hard not being able to feel settled, not feeling like we have to constantly be on the road driving.  It is nearing its end for us both, but more swiftly for Lorraine, because Lorraine will be heading back to Arizona to get settled in for baby time; and I can tell you for sure that she is most definitely looking forward to it.  My journeying will not be completed until the first of August, after I drive our Honda back across the country from North Carolina to Arizona. Yay!!! (not really)  I have a couple more churches to visit along the way, but our support raising expedition is quickly coming to an end.

So far out on the road we have seen God move in many unexpected ways, and most importantly we have seen God provide for faithfully.  We have seen Him provide all that we need in our traveling expenses and all of our traveling details, but we have also seen him provide for us with support; and often in very unexpected places.  A prime example of this is when we were in Boone last Friday.  We were in Boone to see a friend play music at a concert, while we were there, though, we struck up an unlikely conversation with an absolutely wonderful person.  Through the course of our conversation this lady admitted her heart for missions and for Haiti, and was really touched by our story and our vision.  The main way she was touched was because two of her closest friends were about ready to leave and move to Haiti as missionaries also.  Her friends were actually still in town in Boone, and so she called them down to the restaurant we were at and we were able to fellowship with some fellow Haitian missionaries and share with them some advice, some stories, and establish a connection.  This was unexpected, but highly encouraging.  Above and beyond this we were also given a check by this lady with whom we had just met, which surprised us and truly humbled us.  Lorraine and I both decided after this that we too want to be the type of people who are so interested in people’s lives and so giving with our money.  This undoubtedly provided a breath of fresh air into our traveling and traveling exhaustion.

Some of you may have noticed that we have been sending out newsletter and support letters through email, and some through the mail.  We have also been able to post some of our documents on the blog, so that you can jump download it off of here without any mail cost or email hassle for us.  If, however, you would like a newsletter or support letter by mail or any other way, please do not hesitate to let us know.  Below this post is a fact sheet about Sonlight for those of you who would like to know more.

Well I think that this is it for me now, but there will be more posts to come.  Please continue to pray for us as we are on the road and as we are heading back to get settled.  Blessings!

Kyle & Lorraine

Well make sure to take it easy. Make sure Lorraine and baby get lots of rest. Number one priority is Mama and Baby that God blessed you with!
