Update, Update, Update!

Wow! The title sounds much more dramatic than it actually it is, but regardless, I am giving a long overdue update about what is going on with Lorraine and I.

As of the last post, I was still traveling around the country on a support raising trail – visiting family, friends, and churches along the way.  Overall the trip was a lot of fun, but extremely tiring; especially considering the fact that I had to drive our car from North Carolina all the way back to Arizona.  Yikes!  I arrived in Arizona about 2 weeks ago and I have been trying to recover ever since; however this has not been to easy.  We have had to move into a new place up in the southern part of Phoenix and tried to get settled.  The beauty of our situation is that God once again provided for us, as He has the habit of doing.  We are living in a donated townhome (essentially) right across the street from some very good friends of ours Molly and Ryan.  Molly and Ryan have three kids of their own and our fabulous parents, and so we are hoping to glean some good parenting from them in our 3 months across the street.

Besides getting settled in to our new house, I have been frantically searching for a part-time job.  I am certainly not looking to work a lot of hours considering the fact that we are still with Sonlight, but living on a missionary salary in the US does not go very far, and we have lots of baby expenses coming our way.  At this point, my goal is to substitute teach.  This allows me flexibility and to continue in the field that I love: teaching.  I have some possibilities, but we will just have to wait and see how they pan out.

We are both getting very excited for baby time.  All of our midwife appointments have went wonderful and everything is going wonderfully as designed (by God’s design of course).  At this point we are just counting down the days til little Jonesy decides to come and officially join our family.  Big changes are exciting in life, but are also a little intimidating and scary.  We will be ready for our new addition, but mostly because we have covered it in ample amounts of prayer.  This baby is definitely a miracle and a joy to us, and so we will welcome him or her with open arms.

Normally, at this time we would be going back to Haiti to begin school again.  Unfortunately, this year we will not be going on time, but hope for an on-time arrival next year.  I will say, though, that we miss being in Haiti, and we miss teaching all of our students.  I am definitely excited about going back to Haiti, and making a difference one person at a time.

Well I guess that’s it for now!  I promise it won’t be so long before the next time I post.  Life has been a little to crazy and unpredictable as of late, but it at least is starting to smooth out; or I guess at least until the baby comes.  Blessings!
