We are Kyle, Lorraine and (the sleeping baby above) Micah Jones!  Currently, we are missionaries in Port-de-Paix, Haiti, working for an organization called Sonlight Ministries.  In Port-de-Paix, we both are teachers; Lorraine co-teachers Second Grade and 9th Grade Grammar, and Kyle teaches two High School classes but mostly at Sonlight’s connected Bible College.  We love our teaching and we especially love our students – for they are the main reason we are down here.  With every ministry it is hard to calculate the difference that one makes on people, but we trust the Lord every day that we might make difference in our students lives and in their relationship with God.

Personal Information:

Kyle:  Kyle was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Jerry and Lucy Jones.  Kyle also has one brother, Brandon, and now a new sister-in-law, Julianna.  Kyle’s father was a minister, and so even though he was born in Tennessee, Tennessee is not considered his home.  Kyle traveled around a lot growing up and so there are a lot of places that he considers home: Tennessee, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Indiana, North Carolina, Arizona, and now Haiti.

Kyle graduated High School in Enid, Oklahoma and so went to college at Appalachian State University where he met his lovely wife.  After Kyle got his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Religion from App State, he went on to get a Masters degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.  Kyle enjoys reading, studying, teaching, working in and with churches, playing music, and loves most sports, especially tennis.

Lorraine:  Lorraine’s younger years were far less mobile than Kyle’s.  She was born to Phil and Donna Little in Statesville, North Carolina, and lived in Taylorsville, North Carolina for mostly all of her life.  She has three siblings, two younger sisters (Joni 21 and Savannah 18) and a younger brother (Daniel 12).  Her youngest sister and brother still live in Taylorsville, while her other sister attends Appalachian State University – pursuing a degree in teaching.

After graduating High School in Taylorsville, Lorraine went to university at App State where she met Kyle.  After meeting Kyle at App State, Lorraine moved out to Arizona with Kyle for the two of them to get married and live while he pursued his Masters degree.

Kyle and Lorraine:  After being married for two years and after Kyle finished his Masters degree, Kyle and Lorraine experienced some major changes in their life: the first being a call to serve and teach in Haiti, and then shortly after that the news of their first child.  Kyle and Lorraine found out they were pregnant last January, went to Haiti in February, and on September 11th, Micah Brock Jones was born into their family.

Future:  The Lord only knows what the future holds for Kyle and Lorraine, and so they just hope to follow him and be led by him every day and every step of the way.

I love this picture of your family and just am so thankful for the times that we had…I would be so blessed if our lives cross permanently in one way or another. But for now I know God is just using you and us to usher His Kingdom in the desert and the caribean!

Please let me know how I might be able to send a donation. I checked under support & giving but was unable to find an address or way to send funds. Thank you, and thanks for your work in the Lord.

    God bless –
